piercing agate?

I have an agate stone that I would like to make into a necklace. How can I go about making a hole in it? Should I be worried that it will break?
Is there anywhere I can bring it to have a “professional” do it?

You can use a drill to slowly drill a hole in the agate. If you go to fast, you can run the risk of cracking/breaking the agate.

If it is a piece of agate that is kind of thick, use a little WD-40 as lubricant to keep the heat down.
